About Heritage Christian School
Heritage Christian School is a K to grade 9 school situated on the crest of the beautiful North Saskatchewan river valley in the town of Battleford, Saskatchewan. HCS has existed since 1980 when a group of parents organized an independent, interdenominational Christian school in a home in North Battleford. Since then HCS has acquired a spacious building and property which is its present-day location at 11 20th Street West, Battleford.
Born out of our motto, "Fostering Academic Excellence, Developing Christ-like Character" comes Heritage Christian School's vision and mandate: "To equip students with the spiritual and academic foundation to become active, engaged and impacting members of their community, locally and globally for Jesus Christ."
Heritage is an associate school of the Living Sky School Division and its teachers are accredited, teaching the Saskatchewan curriculum. HCS is also a member of Associated Christian Schools International. The school is governed by a parent society which elects a board to work together with the administration in the operations of the school.
Exploring life and curriculum through a Biblical worldview lens and teaching Biblical values throughout the curriculum, weekly chapels and community service opportunities is part of what makes Heritage Christian School unique and distinct. Helping to carry out the "Great Commission" is what makes HCS significant and relevant. Our aim is to grow students and staff into mature disciples of Jesus Christ, thereby, obeying and worshipping our God.
